It is 91 degrees outside. Summer has officially arrived, folks!
We spent the weekend busy. From Friday after work until about 6pm on Saturday we weren't at home (except when sleeping), and we probably should have been. Saturday was spent on the phone, lost in deep thought and terribly distracted from things that should have been fun. It's ok though, we're better now :). Saturday night was occupied by a long, thorough, last trip to Home Depot (ok, we usually shop at Lowe's, but the paint we needed was only at HD so we splurged there. They accept competitor coupons so all was right with the world.).
Sunday was wonderful.
We're working through the book of John at church and yesterday's sermon was on John 7. Pastor Eric talked about living the un-common sense life (aka, faith). His message really hit us square between the eyes and is making us think about how we live (lots of things have been convicting us of this lately).
We go to early church. I'm so thankful David and I were in complete agreement on this when we got married! We go to bed early and like to get up early and start our days- especially on Sundays! After church we hurried home to get cracking on our [neglected] to do lists. David mowed the yard and cleaned out the gutters that had become a home to many tiny trees. I painted all of the baseboards, trim and doors for our new room! (I've been holding out on you about the new room, but don't worry- you'll get the full story when it is complete.) After showers and a brief nap, we were back at it. Well, David played golf while I tried to maintain my productive momentum. Errands were run, laundry was done, pictures were organized, dinners were planned, etc. etc.
Now, Monday. Back to the grind. My sister is laying on the beach right now, and I am so jealous.
