I still can't believe it's June.

The weekend began on Friday with Harley's first real haircut. Granted, David and I had trimmed him up a couple of times before, but he always ended up looking like he lost a fight with a lawn mower afterwards. We figured the summer heat was reason enough to get him trimmed up.

BEFORE:
(we knew the appointment was coming up, so his hygene got neglected a bit that week... he was super dirty by Friday)

AFTER:

(with a pink paw because he chewed up a red pen...)

I freaked out when they brought him out to me! He doesn't even look like the same dog with hair that short! David loves it, but I think I like him fluffy better.

We spent the weekend in the new room. We wanted to knock out the last of our big projects up there so we'll be ready when the carpet goes in next Monday! I cannot wait for this project to be DONE and we're so close! We (ok, David) sanded Friday night, primed everything and painted the ceiling (4 times) Saturday and painted the actual walls on Sunday. The painting is done! It looks awesome and makes us so excited about having that room finished and usable (a complete "man room" project overview to come next week when it is complete)!

All that work wore us out! Harley snuggled on the couch with me for a brief Saturday afternoon nap. He never likes to be snuggly while he sleeps, but he made an exception Saturday. Maybe it's the new haircut.

The weekend wasn't all work and no play, though. We took Saturday night off for a long overdue evening with the Rochas, and we spent Sunday night at the club with the Bryants. It was great to hang out and play, but we were also looking forward to telling them about David's new job. They were SO excited and eager to celebrate his big news! We celebrated with burgers by the pool and it was awesome.

What a great weekend! I love it when we can balance productivity with fun times with friends. Now, another week is upon us. They always come too fast, don't they??
