family beach pics

Wrangling the four kids (and the six adults) for some family pictures on the beach was no small feat, so the fact that any of these look halfway decent is a miracle.

PS- maybe it's time I learn how to use my camera.
PPS- first morning pictures turned into late morning, also known as nap time, also known as bright sun in your eyes slash shadows on your face time.

Thanksgiving week in Sanibel

We just got back from five glorious days together in Sanibel with David's family. As usual, I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I should have, nor did I take pictures that accurately represent the way we spent our time. Oh well.

Since the pictures don't recap our trip... We did a lot of baby playing, neighborhood (and island) walking, bike riding, beach visiting, pool swimming, donut eating, puzzle making and family hanging.

More pictures to come!

Crawford, at 9 months old you:

  • are small. Like, really really small. 13% for height and 11% for weight. The doctor isn't concerned because you are proportional, but this momma's heart feels worried that she's doing something wrong. You eat like a champ and you're a happy boy, so I'm just praying for a growth spurt here soon!
  • still don't crawl. or have interest in crawling. or like to be on your stomach. Ugh. The doctor is sending you to physical therapy to work on it, and I'm sick over that... I have been trying to hard to show you and teach you how it works, so obviously I feel like I'm failing you. Chalk month 9 up to a mommy fail!
  • wave:
  • give hugs and kisses (mostly to mommy)
  • sleep through the night (7:30-7:30/8)
  • take 2 naps (usually 9-11 and 2-4)
  • eat everything (favorites have been carrots, zucchini and mom's homemade zucchini/carrot bread - I'm starting to notice a trend...), but only sometimes. Some meals you will clear your tray and want more and more, other times you aren't very interested in food.
  • have a very identifiable whiny noise
  • like to sit and play with toys - mostly by yourself.
  • are fascinated by lights (always have been), other kids and Harley
  • have three tiny teeth (all on the bottom)
  • your favorite toys are your brush, the bead coaster, the pop up toy and the (not a toy) remote
  • have learned to take your paci out and leave it in the crib when you get up from bedtime or nap times
  • usually nurse every 4 hours (8a, noon, 4p, bedtime)
  • are very curious (but not curious enough to crawl...)
  • throw your paci (and anything else you can get your hands on)
  • sort of clap your hands
  • make an "all done" ish sign (when prompted by us) at the end of meals
  • have an ear piercing scream that is 98% of the time done out of excitement
  • obviously put every.thing. in your mouth
  • stick the tip of your tongue out when you're doing something serious
  • LOVE books. You love to chew on them, but a lot of times you love sitting in someone's lap "reading" them. You prop your feet on them, you like to turn the pages and you pat the pictures. Makes this reading-loving mommy happy!
  • think it is hilarious to watch videos of yourself
  • are super chatty
  • think water is the most fabulous toy we could let you play with

my favorite, favorite picture

You are our sunshine, little boy! We thank the Lord for you every single day. What a blessing you are!
