Grandparents Day- all weekend

Remember last year when David's grandparents came to visit?

Well, I guess we didn't scare them off and they decided to come back! We are really thankful that we live in such a convenient place for people who are headed to other places. The grandparents are actually headed off on a month-long adventure around the southeast. They will be spending the next several weeks in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Texas (and all the states they have to drive through along the way).

As always, we loved having them here. It isn't really a weekend at our house unless it is full of family and friends, and we love that so much.

Also, Mike was in town! He works for the Athletic department at Miami, and he volunteered to work the softball tournament last weekend so he could see us! We were so flattered.

(You think these boys are from Oxford? ha! Quite the Miami fans, for sure!)

Friday night we ate at Big River, which was great. We've been taking a break after eating there so much last year, and I had forgotten how much we really do love it.

Of course, Chester the dog was along for the journey! Harley and Chester (aka "Chestnut" to David) had never met, but they became fast friends. Seriously, Harley has never met a stranger. He loves every single dog and thinks they are only alive to play with him. They did lots of doggy wrestling and then lots of doggy resting.

We spent tons of time just catching up and talking with "Grammy Rae" and "Grandpa Dale", and I just couldn't love them more!

Saturday, we stayed in our pjs until lunchtime (!) because we were just enjoying each other's company. When we finally got ourselves up and ready, we headed out to Chickamauga Battlefield. This trip was an after thought, and we wished we had planned it better. It would have been fun to find the monument that represented Samuel Pickens, an ancestor of David's. We did drive around looking for Ohio monuments and enjoying the beautiful day.

The rest of the day was spent like the previous one: talking, laughing and eating!

Chester on his "throne" in the back of the van. Haha! He has the best seat in the house.

We were sad to see them go, but we always look forward to their next visit!
