My sweet, sweet Lawson, at three months old you:
  • are a smiley little thing! The best way to get them out of you is to say "oooo". Your whole face lights up, and it is positively THE cutest thing. I think I say "I could eat you with a spoon!" through gritted teeth one thousand times a day.
  • make lots of sweet baby coo sounds.
  • have clammy little hands.
  • very sensitive. If someone sneezes or something loud startles you, you get a very sad pouty face and have the most pathetic cry. It is precious.
  • are a terrific sleeper. You usually nurse around 8 (and can we talk about this - sometimes you nurse for an HOUR then! That's ridiculous, child.) then go to bed and sleep until 6:30 or so. Then I feed you, change your diaper, pump (and sometimes daddy gets some hang out time with you if he isn't in a hurry) and shower. Usually around the time Crawford is waking up (7:30ish) you're ready to go down for a nap.
  • rub your eyes when you are sleepy.
  • are funny about where/how you sleep. You've been in the rock and play at night time, and you're perfect there. BUT, I'm terrified of the transition to your crib so we're easing into it. Depending on what's going on in the house, you nap in a bunch of different places: rock and play, on your stomach on my bed (and I check on you a lot), on your stomach in your crib (again, lots of checking going on), or swaddled on your back in your crib. I have NO IDEA how or when we'll transition you into the room with Crawford. I nearly get hives just thinking about it.
  • love attention. You come to life with Crawford isn't around, which is funny to us. I think you just know when to be chill and when we have extra time to play with you. You're a winner, kid.
  • suck on your hands a LOT. We're trying to keep the paci priority, but it's pretty adorable when you try to shove your entire fist in there.
  • kick your legs like you're running a marathon when you're excited.
  • are a mama's boy. There, I said it.
Lawsey Lou (I'm so sorry, bud, you have the most terrible nicknames), you are a JOY. Seriously, you make even the craziest of days so sweet and special. All the cliche thing moms have said before me are true: I can't imagine our family before you were in it, and time is FLYING by.
