20 months

Crawford, at 20 months old you,

Oh my word, child. You are a hot mess. "A mess!" as you and Mrs. Shelby would say :). And yes, eating lunch INSIDE your crib... it was sheet-change day anyway.

  • are a big brother! Obviously this month has brought lots of changes for your little life, but you're doing pretty well. In fact, you really do love Lawson. You randomly give him kisses and try to put his paci in (and shockingly don't try to steal it too often). You certainly had a rough go for a little while, but I think a lot of that is just your age and personality (strong willed, you are). You haven't shown much jealousy or anger about the baby, so I think we're doing pretty well. You think it is hilarious when he cries (score!) and when he nurses. We pray that you two are going to be best buds one day, and I can already see that love blossoming. Praise Jesus.
  • blow us away with how much you know and how quickly you are learning new things.
  • can almost count to 10 on your own, can recognize and say all of your letters (O is sometimes "circle" and sometimes "ball" though- it's cute), and are getting pretty close to being able to spell Crawford and Elmo by yourself.
  • push your lawn mower vigorously all around the yard and driveway, and say "mow mow gass" all the time.
  • love your little play cars, and actually stay occupied for long(ish) periods of time just by driving them through the house.
  • get fixated on whatever you're holding - a toy car, rock, nut, etc. - and refuse to put it down. We end up with lots of "treasures" inside the house.
  • love your baby brother and love to give him kisses.
  • give kisses by leaning your face in and saying "mah! mah!"
  • are very testy about going upstairs or coming in from outside
  • know the difference in a soccer ball, basketball and football.
  • repeat everything we say
  • hate having your diaper changed
  • can be SO defiant
  • say "apple asses" instead of applesauce
  • think gagging yourself is hilarious
  • "I love you five"
  • love to pray. You've been just saying "Amen!" at the end of our prayers, but now you repeat after us ("Dear God, thank you for ___.") You always thank God for Lawson first. Melts my heart. Other times you say thank you for bubbles, food, Max, Ella, Unc Bull, etc.
  • say "no" like it is your favorite word ever. We are working on the appropriate usage of "yes" because sometimes when you say no, it means yes. That's confusing.
