V-day projects

Remember last year when I sent Valentine packages to some far-away loved ones? Well, I decided to make it an annual tradition, so I had to get started early (a) because last year's packages were late - which I hate to be and b) because we'll be in Hawaii leading up to V-day. Here are the projects that made it into this years' packages:

Rudolph in the Snow cookies (from the new Junior League cookbook that will be out in April! Can't wait!)
** Yes, these are technically Christmas-themed cookies, but they are soo good and still in the red/white/Valentine's color combo, so I think they work. And, out of the three times I have made these cookies in the last month, I haven't taken a picture of them... oh well.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Using a mixer, beat the butter until fluffy- about 2 minutes. Add brown sugar and mix. Add the egg and vanilla. Blend flour in, in 3 stages. Stir in nuts, chocolate, and crasins. Roll into small rounded ball and then bake for 8-10 minutes.
