he made the monkey bread

Wow, I'm way behind.

We've been occupied with events and traveling- beginning with a weekend in Columbus, GA for my brother's high school graduation! How did that even happen?!

Greg is on the end- the only one with the blue stole (for International Thespian Society).

His ceremony was at 9am and it was still hotter-than-blue-blazes hot!
there he goes! DONE!
{family breathes a sigh of relief...}

The Harris County High School Class of 2010

Greg is was a class officer (historian, to be exact), so he had multiple duties related to graduation. He actually gave the speech at Baccalaureate the weekend before! I'll have to get the video from my parents because... well, he was awesome.

sweaty, disheveled, graduate

seeesters!

What made the weekend even better (than my whole family being together) - Uncle Tony (from Savannah) and Aunt Susie (from Jacksonville) came!

It was so great to see them and catch up, not to mention so sweet of them to support Greg!

Saturday night we ventured downtown and did some more sweating. Seriously, I had forgotten how hot and muggy Columbus, Georgia is. I think I had blocked it out of my mind on purpose...

Holy cow, sweaty and gross... but I LOVE Uncle T! Best uncle ever award.

Sister, sister and brother! Sweet, sweet family.

Harley had a pretty nice weekend too. He got to play with Bella and puppy #2 (who has since gone to her new family). That pup (named Maggie now) is Harley's clone! It is a good thing she was already claimed because otherwise I just might have snuck her in the car on the way home...

Our entertainment on the ride down...

When the picture gets really foggy, it is because of the HUMIDITY! Not even kidding... my camera was fogging up left and right. Amazing.

And now, the best part...
Greg just found out Tuesday that he got into THE BOSTON CONSERVATORY!!!
I am so proud of that kid I can hardly stand it! They auditioned a couple thousand kids and took 45. 45!
It is one of the best musical theater schools in the nation (up there with Julliard and NYU), and my brother will be a student there in the fall.

--- more about Greg's division ---

The Theater Division

After merging with the National Associated Studios of Music at the start of the 20 th century, the Conservatory expanded its offerings to include training in dance and theater. Today, The Boston Conservatory’s Theater Division is considered one of the best in the country and has developed a distinctive specialization in musical theater. Both the Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Music degrees are offered. Seniors may choose an emphasis in Directing, Music Performance, Dance or Acting.

The theater curriculum includes all components of theater performance training—acting, speech, dance, theater movement, voice, musicianship, directing, stagecraft, and theater academics. Every aspect of theater training focuses on helping students achieve professional readiness including professional grooming and skills for auditions and cold readings, repertoire development, interviewing skills and business skills—including how to manage agents, casting directors, managers, and contracts. Numerous performance opportunities include musicals (both new work and popular pieces), recitals, senior-directed plays and musicals, a senior showcase in New York City, and springtime concerts with the Boston Pops.

Standards for these “triple threat” (acting, singing, dancing) performers are uncommonly demanding but serve as excellent preparation for careers on Broadway, in television and film work, and with national touring companies.
