Crawford, at 10 months old you:
  • hit a growth spurt! I've been praying for one since last month's growth was so discouraging, and the Lord certainly answered our prayers.
  • bit/bite me nursing. Earlier this month you broke the skin, caused bleeding and all kinds of pain for me. That healed, but you still (defiantly) bite me from time to time, and usually get flicked on your cheek because of it. It doesn't seem to bother you, which doesn't help the issue.
  • look down people's shirt and pull on their chest hair. Hilarious. Uncle Jayme was especially violated.
  • kick the sides of your crib so loud it sounds like there is a bass drum banging in there. You've been doing this for months, I've just forgotten to write it down.
  • dance and clap when we turn on music (see video below!)
  • are obsessed with balls and the plastic medicine dispenser and your toothbrush
  • say "ball"! I think we'll count it as your first word!
  • say "bap" all the time. We have no idea what it means.
  • army crawl like a champ - and consequently have rug burns on your forearms.
  • have had a runny nose (clear snot) and TONS of drool for weeks. I even took you to the doctor because I was worried you had an ear infection (you've also been pulling on your ears and coughing). No ear infection... you're just working on cutting your top two teeth. There is even a little bruise on one of them, so I know they are bothering you! Fortunately, you've been sleeping well regardless.
  • have mastered clapping.
  • push your food off your tray... ugh. annoying.
  • wave to everything (the Christmas tree, cars passing by, Harley).
  • act all coy and squinch your nose and turn your head when people talk to you.
  • have moved to a convertible car seat. You had started crying every time we put you in the car seat so we went ahead and switched you. You still don't like getting in it, but you're much more content now that you sit more vertically. You are especially happy if I roll your window down.
  • love to stand, and will walk all over the place if we hold your arms.
  • still aren't pulling up on stuff. We went to physical therapy and she was super encouraging. We have some homework to be working on, so hopefully this month will bring lots of motor development in the mobility category!
  • have started taking a silly little 45 minute morning nap (instead of the 2 hour one you were taking!). It's brutal holding you off until 2 for your afternoon nap, but then you sleep 2 hours solid, so that's good.
  • think having a blanket on you is hilarious. You've nearly outgrown your sleep sacks, so I've been using a blanket during nap times (when I can watch you and make sure it isn't wrapped around your face since you roll allll over the crib when you sleep). As soon as I pull it out you start laughing and smiling. Silly boy.
  • have a new interest in eyes. You poke mine all the time, and now you point to them when I ask where they are. We're working on noses. For now you just like to stick your fingers inside yours.
  • are a very happy, smiley, lovable boy.

Attempt at a birthday note for Uncle Kevin... that doesn't work so well with you any more.

You look like SUCH a big boy to me.

With your best girl, Larkin. Y'all hang out a lot.
