Eve is {7 months}

Height- 25 1/4 inches
Weight- 14 lbs.

At seven months old, you...
  • are still the BEST. You just keep getting sweeter and more laid back and joyful!
  • have found your tongue and it is so hilarious. You stick it out and smile if ANYONE looks at you, and you are so so proud. About 90% of the pictures of you this month have your sweet little tongue sticking out.
  • sit up confidently! Dr. Good was super impressed and said you are an "advanced sitter" ;). He said maybe you'll be a gymnast with your good balance.
  • made your first trip to Ohio to visit the Geyer side of the fam! You slept for a solid three hours on the ride up, which was glorious. And while we were there you were absolutely perfect. You loved your cousins, and they were pretty taken with you. All of the adults just oogled over you, and it was really special to get to spend time together! You did hate Uncle Jayme at first, but you got over it.
  • really could use two 2ish hour naps a day, but that rarely happens. You mostly take a cat nap in the car in the morning, and then another cat nap mid-day. Then you nap in the afternoon while the boys do (hallelujah).
  • have just enough hair for clip in bows, and I really love them.
  • grab everything you can reach. Handful of hummus? Don't mind if you do.
  • haven't eaten much, but that's our fault not yours. I've given you steamed carrots, steamed broccoli and avocado. Each one time. Oops.
It's so different writing these updates for you than it was for your brothers. Most everything that was true last month is still true now. You adore your brothers, don't have any teeth, refuse to roll to your belly and are really quiet.  We are all totally obsessed with you, little girl. I just pray non stop that I can be the mom the Lord has called me to be.

Lawson is THREE years old

OH, Lawson. You are the best. With most birthdays I feel like "I can't believe you are fillintheblank years old." But this is different. I feel like you have been three for so long. You are so big and mature (hahaha that sounds ridiculous) for your "age". Having a big brother really has made you seem much more advanced than a two year old.

Lawson, at three years old you:
  • LOVE basketball. Though, since football season has started you've sort of switched to loving it as much or more. Your favorite activity is to play football in the front yard. Daddy hikes the ball and you make us chase you to take it away. It's so much fun!
  • also love to run. You are adamant about wearing "running shoes" and multiple times a day you insist on "going for a run" up and down the driveway. Since the Olympics, you always start your run crouched on the ground like a sprinter.
  • are simultaneously so rough and tumble and sweet and sensitive. You truly have a tender heart (which is hard to remember when you're destroying everything in sight).
  • are shockingly smart. I say shockingly because with Crawford we actively taught him so much, and you have just picked things up. You know almost all of your letters (you sometimes confuse R/P, O/Q, L/I), know what sound a lot of letters make, can count to 20, can write L.
  • consistently say that Margaret Anne is your favorite friend. And HayHay.
  • tell me you dream about frogs after every single nap time.
  • have the funniest little voice. We aren't sure if it's just a normal speech impediment that you'll grow out of or something more, but man it's adorable. Your vocabulary is huge, but you pretty much always need a translator. I have a speech evaluation scheduled for a couple months from now.
  • think your name is spelled LawsoRn. Today you told me that when you turn 3 then you'll have an R in your name (since I've been telling you it doesn't actually have one).
  • say "it's too fit" if something is either too big OR too small.
  • are still my snuggler. You love to cuddle up, and you want me to lay with you in your bed every night. I almost never say no, and it's my favorite time of day.
  • stopped calling Crawford "Bubba" about the time that you started calling Eve "Beeve". It sort of crushed me for that nickname to go away.
  • still sleep with a paci (insert eye covering emoji here). You know it has to go away when you turn 3, so we'll see how this next week goes. I'm terrified. I'm just certain you'll stop napping... Tonight (on the eve of your birthday), you told me (as you have for months now because of our prompting) "when I'm 3 I won't have a binkie... I don't want to turn 3!"
  • are so destructive. SO.DESTRUCTIVE. You just break things and mess up what other people (Crawford) are playing with non.stop. It makes us all crazy.
  • hate to be disciplined. The threat of a spanking sends you into a tailspin (but doesn't prevent you from disobeying...). You quickly want to apologize every time you disobey (which is a zillion times an hour. literally feels constant).
  • are 100% potty trained. You rocked it. You've had one accident in public (at the Mission Preschool), but other than that you've just done amazing. You even nap in undies.
  • are very independent. So much more than Crawford. You can brush your teeth by yourself and do all bathroom things (other than wiping) and get dressed. It really is so fun to watch you figure out how to do things!
  • are big. I'm anxious to see your stats at the dr, but all I know is that you are "big for your age."
  • prefer to wear "running clothes", but have finally come around to wear what I pick out most of the time. I've given up caring too much about it so we're at a good place.
  • are obsessed with Eve. You seriously love her so much. But you also do ridiculous things like stick your nose in her mouth.
  • are a total class clown. If you can get people laughing, you just about won't stop.
  • potty talk is your favorite. Spoiler alert: it isn't mine.
  • are a total klutz. You get hurt ALL. the. time. Seriously, if you have a day without blood it is unusual. You fall down constantly. You also had an ER visit recently for a concussion. You fell off a chair in the dining room and hit your head on the floor then started throwing up in the middle of the night. It was not fun.
  • copy Crawford's every move. You wouldn't admit it, but he is your best best friend. You hate to be apart.
  • say phome (phone), mineS, baybe (maybe), big pile (of milk or any drink), "I have too much hands" (when your hands are full)
Basically, you are such a total handful and a joy at the same time. We love you more than you'll ever know, our little Lawsy Loo!

Eve is {6 months}

Height- ?? inches
Weight- 14 lbs.

Half a year?! How is that even possible? Time is zooming by, and I don't want to miss a thing. This morning we went to play in the fountains at Coolidge and then walked to Julie Darling Donuts. You rode in the BOB the whole time and even took a little nap. You're seriously just the best, and we all adore you.

At six months old, you...
  • are seriously the best.
  • are still a great sleeper. You do need your paci to be popped back in a couple times a night sometimes, but Daddy and I take turns doing that so it's not bad.
  • refuse to roll from your back to belly. You really need to figure this out because it is frustrating the tar out of you.
  • poop out of every diaper. And your poop stains. so annoying.
  • freaking LOVE your brothers. Like, get giddy excited when you see then after a while. They totally manhandle you and you adore it.
  • love your lovey. Yay! We've successfully made three kids be lovey addicts.
  • have really started to love the pool. You splash like crazy and it is adorable.
  • are calming down on the spit up front. I tried to go without the reflux meds one day though and it was a nightmare, so you obviously still need them.
  • have had a nasty cough and runny nose for the past week or so.
  • are getting much better at sitting up unassisted. Yay! My favorite milestone!
  • don't have any teeth, but are so drooly and love to chew on everything (fingers are your favorite).
  • love the indestructible book.
  • are really quiet. You don't babble a lot, and it takes a lot to make you laugh. Whenever we hear your sweet sounds it is like gold!
  • have never met a stranger, and it's so fun to take you places because you make everyone's day!
  • "look like a Disney character" according to a lady at the pool.
  • hate to be tickled.
This is our last week at the pool, and I can't help but think about what next summer will be like with you running around. I never could have guessed how much joy you bring to our lives. Just thinking about you now while you are napping makes me beam.

Eve is {5 months}

Height- ?? inches
Weight- 13 lbs.

Eve Louise!
Every single month with you is more fun. Your little personality is starting to blossom, and we are seeing more of your own little person appear.

At five months old, you...
  • don't like having a dirty diaper. This is so different than Lawson. I remember that he could have cared less, but you freak out when you're dirty.
  • sometimes hate the car seat. That's gotten tricky this month. Sometimes you are over tired and have a hard time falling asleep, other times you just don't want to be in there.
  • are so barfy and spitty.
  • light up when we look at and talk to you. Especially the boys!
  • sleep like a champ. Bedtime is 7:30/8 (unless we're not home, then it is whenever) and you sleep a pretty solid 12 hours on your belly. Sometimes we have to go in and give you your paci, but Daddy and I take turns doing that so it never seems that bad.
  • nap intermittently, and sometimes fight it when you're really sleepy. You sometimes nap in your crib (on your tummy) and sometimes in the Rock & Play in our room (ok, closet).
  • like to grab hair, faces, toys, anything you can get your hands on.
  • love having a blanket or lovey to hold and put over your face if you're sleeping on your back (R&P, car seat).
  • didn't want the bottle the couple of times we left you with one (once with Ashy and once with Daddy), but eventually came around.
  • are stilly a bitty little thing. I took you in for a weight check because I was afraid you weren't gaining enough, but you are right on track. Just a peanut :)
  • do not laugh a lot. We get giggles out of you here and there, but you seriously make us work for them!
  • poop out of every single diaper. Seriously, if you poop, it gets all over your clothes (and stains!!). So annoying. I miss cloth diapers.
  • don't really love to be reclining (like in the bouncy seat). You definitely prefer to be upright like in the bumbo and exersaucer.
Eve, you are our delight.

Eve is {4 months}

Height- 23.5 inches
Weight- 12 lbs. 1 oz.

Beevie Lou,
I'm so sorry for your horrible nickname. But it is totally happening. We all call you Beeve now! At four months old (1/3 of the way to ONE, as Daddy reminds me) you:

  • rolled over today! You went from belly to back, and it was like as soon as you did it once you wanted to practice over and over again. And then you almost all the way rolled from back to belly.
  • are seriously sooo good and laid back. You fall asleep wherever you are. You hardly ever cry.
  • hang out a lot at the pool, which is made much easier because of my last point. I keep a bouncy seat for you in the closet at the pool, and you hang out with Julie Saunders (or anyone else I hand you off to) whenever possible. Have I mentioned you ARE THE BEST??
  • take a bottle without issue. The boys didn't very often, so this is nice!
  • all of a sudden look JUST like Crawford. At first when you were born, everyone said you looked like Lawson, but now there's no denying Crawford.
  • "love to be vertical. The jumperoo, exersaucer and bumbo are our friends. You still love to stand." - This is a quote from Crawford's 4 month blog post, and it is 100% true for you too.
  • get embarrassingly few baths. So sorry.
  • chew on your hands and fingers all the time. You're also super drooly.
  • wear size 2 diapers and mostly 0-3/3mo clothes.
  • nap so well. About 1-1.5 hours after you wake up, I just lay you in the rock and play (shoved half in our closet) and you doze off. I have to make sure you're dressed for wherever we're going (usually the pool), because I always have to wake you up for us to leave. You usually sleep while we're out, then after we get home and the boys go down for naps you sleep too. Naps in the rock and play are awesome.
  • have awesome blue eyes. While I was pregnant I hoped you would have dark hair like C and blue eyes like L. So far, so good!
  • are still on Zantac for reflux but just twice a day now. I kept forgetting to give you the middle-of-the-day dose, and you seemed fine so I just stopped it. Your barf is worse some days than others, but it never bothers you so it seems to be working.
  • are adored by your brothers. And also, they ignore you a lot which isn't a bad thing.
  • are absolutely THE CUTEST AND BEST BABY IN THE WORLD.
A few things about me:
  • I pump every morning to give Leslie milk for baby Seth. I average 5-6oz/day.
  • Since running out of my placenta pills (right before we left for the beach), I started getting really bad headaches. We think they are hormonal because of the pills, but it has been super annoying. Dr. Brody gave me pain meds and they help, so I just hope they go away completely.

Eve is {3 months}

Weight- 11 lbs. 5 oz.
Height-
Head-

Our precious girl! Every single day I am floored by how much I stinking love you. At three months old you:
  • have a new nickname. Lawson calls you "Beeve" (baby + Eve). It's catching on, and it just might stick.
  • are a pretty stellar nighttime sleeper.  Bedtime is flexible depending on what we are doing (7:45-9) and you sleep until 6-7. This week on vacation you've been waking up around 5, eating and going back to sleep (in our bed! I love having a king!)
  • sleep totally unswaddled. Just regular jammies, a sleep sack if one is clean. Sometimes a paci, sometimes not. You're so easy.
  • take terrible naps during the day. If we're home all day you're a mess. You're the master of a 20 minute cat nap (in the bouncy seat, on the floor, wherever). If we're out you sleep much better because you're in the wrap or car seat for long stretches of time. Your best day time naps are with me (no complaining here) - and at the beach you slept on your stomach on the floor for 2+ hours. ha!
  • wear 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers (but when we run out of the ones people gave us I'll probably move up to 2s).
  • went to the beach (we're there now!) and got in the pool for the first time. You were unimpressed.
  • are generally so chill and awesome. We gave you a shower bath one morning and you were just unfazed.
  • smile and have almost laughed, but not yet. I'm working hard to get one out of you!

Eve is {2 months}

Weight- 10 pounds, 7 ounces (25%)
Height- 21.75 inches (25%)
Head- 14.75 inches

Girlie swirly! At two months old, you...

  • are very laid back and go with the flow (do you have much choice as a third kid?).
  • get worn in my Solly Baby wrap EVERY single day. It is the best thing ever (thanks, Jamie!!).
  • still sleep allll the time! I feel like you're narcoleptic.
  • started sleeping all night (8/9 hours) right at 2 months, but some nights are still better than others.
  • will tolerate tummy time for about 2 minutes then you're over it.
  • have started smiling at us and it MELTS mommy and daddy.
  • are beginning to notice other people (like your brothers) and watch what's going on around you.
  • are done wearing most newborn clothes, but 3 months are still kinda big. I love putting you in bubbles and of course wearing a bow at all times 😉. Daddy recently asked "when are we done with the bows?" Um, like never dude...
  • are a super fast nurser. Like, 10 minutes if you're really paying attention.
  • still love your vibrating seat and swing.
  • stopped sleeping with your arms swaddled, and you seem much happier. It takes you a smidge longer to fall asleep, but then you're much more content
  • love a paci, but don't have to have it to go to sleep.
  • went to the nursery at church for the first time right at two months. You slept the whole time, and I actually paid attention to the message (instead of just talking to Brittany in the nursing mothers room ;)).
  • are your brothers favorite! Lawson especially is obsessed with you.

are just the most adorable, squishy, scrumptious little girl I could ever imagine. Mmmm! We LOVE you, Evie Lou!
