Weight- 15 lbs. 8 oz
Height- 26 3/4 inches
Lawson, at SIX months old you:
- arch your back and scream when I put you in the carseat, but chill out once you're all buckled in.
- love playing with and sucking on your toes.
- say some "mamama" sounds, especially when you're whiny which melts my heart.
- have started eating some real food! We've done steamed baby carrots and bananas, and you can't get them in your mouth fast enough. You're generally obsessed with whatever we put in our mouths (cups of water, all food, etc.).
- are constantly being manhandled by your brother, and you.love.it.
- have the most spectacular blue eyes. People stop me all the time to comment on them, and I just beam with pride! Daddy gets all the credit for those genes though :)
- have had what seems to be an ongoing cold. It's really just been two, but it feels like your nose has been running non stop for weeks.
- have been a bit of a sleep disaster (see last point). We have made progress the past few days though, so there's hope ahead! You do go to bed at the same time as Crawford now (7pm) and both in your cribs in your room together! That is a huge step in the right direction :)
- are super drooly, but no signs of teeth yet. You've slowed down on the vomit though, thankfully.
- have some inconsistent stranger danger. You flash the BIGGEST sweetest smiles for people sometimes, and other times (maybe if people get too close?) you freak out and cry.
- still love being held. I'm wearing you around the house a lot more these days so we can still get stuff done (especially around dinner time).
- totally have my heart.
It has taken me this long to realize that your traumatic entrance into this world and our extended time together in the hospital really has made an impact on my little relationship with you. I feel this different bond with you than I did with Crawford (not better! just different!), and I think I have an extra sensitive instinct to protect you and take care of you. I'm super leery of who I leave you with (read: I've only left you with family members or in the nursery at OUR church when I know the people), and there's no way I'm ever not going to rock you to sleep if that's what you want ;). Don't get me wrong… you are still totally a second child who I noticed was chewing on a stick (while I was holding you). That has also happened with a leaf and a piece of paper. Hashtag mom fail. Oh, and Crawford fed you a peanut butter cracker like a month ago. We all survived.
All that to say… I love you, bud. So, so much I think my heart may just explode.
