lots of fun with baby Ella

Since my weekend plans were out the window, I had time to hang out with David and continue celebrating baby Ella! We visited with them in the hospital Saturday (David hung out with them most of the night on Friday too), and we wanted to do something special to welcome them home on Sunday. Inspired by this post and tutorial, we made a balloon banner (but a much, much smaller one).

My cute husband was super into it, and we had a lot of fun working together! It makes me excited to think that one day we'll be planning our (future) kids' birthday parties, and D will be so great at that!

Later Sunday night, we brought a cake and hung out with Jodi's parents who were visiting from Michigan.

I've been loving taking pictures of Ella. I'm still learning my way around my camera, especially when a flash in a newborn's face isn't much of an option, and I occasionally get a picture I'm happy with (out of hundreds). I'm shooting mostly with my 50mm, which adds another element to the learning curve!

This picture had us rolling on the floor laughing. It was just a random face she made, and I happened to have the camera ready to capture it. Hilarious!

Baby Bo is...

a GIRL!

Ella Dorothy Bogensberger arrived this morning at 2:59am, weighing 6lbs, 2oz and 18 inches long. She is PERFECT, and Jodi did so, so well! Greg has not stopped smiling for the past 24 hours, and they couldn't be a happier little family. Praise the Lord!

it's almost time!

Jodi and I just had our "last supper" before baby Bo comes tomorrow!! I can not wait to meet this precious addition to our "family"!

*Becca and I did the same thing the day before she was induced with KJ!

project for baby Bo

Several months ago we started a big project for Greg and Jodi's baby. Jodi and I found a great glider rocker at Goodwill for $30, but the cushions had all seen better days. We figured we could tackle recovering them

before

Greg and David worked on peeling the wallpaper in the kitchen while we did rocker stuff.

We also thought this would be a good opportunity to teach Jodi how to sew. Turns out, a project like this really isn't the right time for a sewing lesson... we'll have to come back to that.

So, the project took a little longer than planned, but the good news is: it is finished! And, in time for baby Bo to arrive (he/she isn't here yet... TODAY is the due date!)!

I wanted to make the arm covers removable because, well, they will probably get projectile vomit/poop/spit up/etc. on them at some point. Let's be honest.

Finished!

our weekend- Part Four

Yes, I skipped a few "parts". Part Two was Max's dedication, Part Three was keeping Kate & KJ Sunday morning while Becca & Keith went to church (pics to come), and Part Four was Jodi's baby shower!

Andrea and I had a great time planning and preparing to celebrate Jodi and Baby "Bo". We don't know if the baby is a he or a she yet, and I am DYING to know! I'm horrible at guessing, so I really have no inclination towards what it is. We'll find out soon enough- Jodi is due in 12 days!

Andrea and I both like crafts and projects, so we enjoyed DIY-ing lots of stuff for the shower. I made the invitations, 2 of these cupcake towers (that of course, I didn't take a single picture of...) and these cute chocolates:

Andrea made an awesome game, but I can't share it yet because we intended it to be reusable and it will be soon :). Also, my mom made thank you cards for Jodi (you can see them in the box here) and everyone loved them! She is so talented.

The cute mom and dad to-be! We love Jodi & Greg and we canNOT wait for this baby to be here!
